Sir Manuel Freire-Garabal y Núñez has been decorated these days by the Russian Imperial House with the medal “400 years of the Imperial House Romanoff” in recognition of his diplomatic work and, particularly, in relation to his recent appointment as Chairman of the Private Council of His Highness Prince Mahmoud Salah Al Din Assaf of Saudi Arabia.
The medal is awarded as a prize to those who have rendered extraordinary services to Russia and the Russian Imperial House, who have made a significant contribution to the rebirth of the country’s spiritual, scientific, cultural and educational, governmental and national traditions; to the national security of the Fatherland, to the development of the economy, to the charitable activities and the assistance of their poor and disadvantaged compatriots, to the strengthening of the relations between the peoples of our nation, to the restoration of the moral and ethical foundations of our society, and also to the preparations for the 400th anniversary celebrations.
